This year, the UN4TW committee presents you the “Taiwan Week”, a series of promotional events starting from Sept 14th – Sept 21st, with a goal to gather supporter to come out to the rally on Sat, Sept 22nd.  Furthermore, if you have time to volunteer for the movement including cheering, gathering petition signature and etc., please fill out this form.

Boston and DC YPGers plan to go to NY to join the movement.  Please come out to as many events to show your support. Because FAPA-YPG wants you for the 2012 Advocacy Conference!

Last year, we saw another successful democratic presidential election in Taiwan. While Taiwan’s democracy remains robust, it has not received the proper international recognition. For 19 years, Taiwan has continuously sought a United Nations membership, yet for 19 years the United Nations has denied the 23 million Taiwanese their proper representation in this league of nations. So on this 20th anniversary of the “UN for Taiwan” movement, let us unite and make our voice heard!

Join us this year to learn the best kept secret of grassroots advocacy.  The focus of this year’s conference will be
outreach.  Through outreach activities, you can inform your friends, families, passersby and Congressmen about issues regarding Taiwan.  You’ll learn from leading experts why it is critical for Taiwan to have international representation.  Then you’ll hear from seasoned FAPA-YPG members share their experience and tips on outreach.


Finally you’ll participate in an intense training to learn how to pitch Taiwan.  After the conference, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and the skills to continue spreading the word for Taiwan!

On Tuesday, 2/14, President Obama is scheduled to meet with Mr. Xi, who is expected to be China’s next President and the chair of the National People’s Congress.  

Locally, we will hold a peaceful rally to protest the PRC’s refusal to renounce the use of force against Taiwan.  We will urge China to respect Taiwan’s freedom, democracy, and right to self-determination.
